Election Commission of India
(ECI) launched the Election Visitors Programme (EVP) 2014. The EVP 2014 was
launched as a part of South-South Cooperation initiative of the ECI in
partnership with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). On the day of
launch, seven senior officials from Namibia
began their participation in the EVP 2014 and left for the Karnataka State

As part of the EVP 2014, 50

first-hand experience of Lok Sabha Elections 2014. This is the first time that
ECI is facilitating election visits from other countries on such a scale and
under a structured programme.
The 20 countries which will
be visiting India as part of EVP 2014 are Namibia, Nigeria, Lesotho, Malaysia,
Mauritius, Myanmar, Nepal, Uganda, Kenya, Bhutan and some member-countries of
League of Arab States (Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Morocco, Somalia,
