The Indian Space Research
Organisation (ISRO) is all set to launch five foreign satellites on June 30. ISRO’s
workhorse launcher the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) will launch the
five satellites from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
SPOT-7 (714 kg) – France
NLS7.1 (CAN-X4) (15 kg) – Canada
NLS7.2 (CAN-X5) (15 kg) – Canada
AISAT (14 kg) – Germany
VELOX-1 (7 kg) – Singapore
ISRO said in a statement that
all these five satellites are being launched under commercial arrangements that
Antrix (Isro’s commercial arm) has entered with the respective foreign agencies.
The Mission Readiness Review Committee and the Launch Authorisation Board are
meeting on June 27 to review the progress of pre-launch activities.
Following the clearance from
the board, the 49-hour count down for the mission will commence at 8.49 am on
June 28. The national space agency said that the vehicle lift-off time is
scheduled at 9.49 am on June 30.
