Pan-India Z-level Cover for Baba Ramdev

Baba Ramdev will now enjoy Z-level security cover from a central armed police force, following the home ministry's decision to shift the yoga guru from the state list of protectees to the central list and give him a nationwide security cover based on a fresh intelligence input of a threat to him. Baba Ramdev so far had a Z-level cover since 2011 from the Uttarkhand Police. The Home Ministry is also said to have also prepared a list of Congress leaders like Jitin Prasada, Sachin Pilot, Rita Bahaguna Joshi and Beni Prasad Verma whose security may be downgraded or withdrawn soon. A Z-level cover from the Centre comes with 33 security personnel well-armed with sophisticated AK47, INSAS rifles and Glock pistols. The men work in two shifts and, at any point of time, Ramdev will be guarded by at least 13 men.
