With a government formation exercise proving unsuccessful
and Omar Abdullah quitting as caretaker chief minister, Jammu-Kashmir was
brought under governor's rule.
Beginning a blame game, PDP accused National Conference
of forcing a situation necessitating Delhi rule ahead of the January 19
deadline, while NC chief Omar Abdullah pointed fingers at PDP, saying its bid
to “negotiate a six-year term for Mufti Mohammad Sayeed” had led to the
situation. BJP said it would continue talks with both PDP and NC.
