Padma Awards 2013 announced. For the fist time, the controversy about the award came so heavily. Janaki, the well-known play back singer of south Indian languages (it is impossible to put her to in particular language) rejected the Padma Bhushan award. She cites the reason that, South Indians are totally rejected in the awards given like this. Some news also says that, Kamal Hassan dropped from the list of Padma Bhushan at the last minute due to the Vishwaroopam controversy. (Tamil Nadu government forwarded the names of Kamal, M S Viswanathan and Ramamurthy for the "coveted" awards)
All the four southern states got 20 awards in Padma Awards 2013 while Delhi alone got 24 awards. From this itself, it is crystal clear how much biased is this?
Some expected Sachin Tendulkar to be conferred Bharat Ratna, but government not announced it. (Might be before election they will announce it) {More than Tendulkar there are several other persons from India really eligible for this award}
Even Ilayaraja (music maestro got Padma Bhushan only in 2010. He scored music for more than 900 films. His music is world famous (check with world famous music colleges); His bgm (back ground music) is something that cant be said in words. What else record do the government expect from a musician?
