"kudos" to KB Sir....

41st Dadasaheb Phalke Awardee is only the second Tamil chosen for the honour, after Sivaji Ganesan (1996)!

Besides a whole lot of new faces, including the inimitable Saritha and Prakash Raj, there were several well-known actors who made a mark in his films. Gemini Ganesan, Nagesh, ‘Major' Sundarrajan, Sivakumar, Rajesh, Jai Ganesh, Sowcar Janaki, Saroja Devi, Vanisri, Jayanthi, Kanchana, Sujatha … the list of those whose skills were honed at KB's school is endless. 
Several artists introduced by him is endless viz., Rajini, vivek, Y G Mahendran, Radha ravi, Nassar, Ramesh Aravind, Charlie,Jayasudha, Jayapradha, Saritha, etc...
His some imp films are: Iru Kodugal, Ethir Neechal, Sarvar Sundaram, Aval Oru Thodarkathai, Thillu Mullu, Punnagai Mannan, Bama Vijayam etc... His films are lessons to the upcoming directors.. Not only he has the longlist of actors but also the list of directors also lengthy. Some of them are., Vasanth, Suresh Krishna, Saran, Selvaraghavan, Visu, Cheran, Seeman, Vetrimaran, etc... 2 be frankly saying he is a legend who gets this recognition so late. There are several persons from Tamil film industry who not got recognised by the govt of India so far  (Nagesh, Maniratnam, Manorama, Chitra, SPB, Ilayaraja, etc...) Not only films, he created a revolution in TV serials too such as Jannal, Anni, Premi, Kaialavau Manasu, Rayil Sneham, Kadhal Pagadai etc... A R Rahmna's fist film "Roja" was produced by him (director is maniratnam)

  • 1988 — Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration for 'Rudraveena'
  • 1991 — National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues for 'Oru Veedu Iru Vaasal'
  • 1992 — 'Roja', for which Mani Ratnam won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration was produced by K. Balachander.    His films won the "national Film Award for Best Film in Tamil" are .,

Winner of "Padmashri" . In his films, more than dialogues the artists eyes speaks a lot.. In general he is a legend.. It's worth to watch his movies...
