 Jayalalitha and her party AIADMK had a massive victory in Tamil Nadu Assembly election 2011, after this victory Jayalalitha have sworn as chief minister of Tamil Nadu. Many nation leaders have hailed Jayalalitha’s victory.
The impact of the Tamil Nadu Assembly election results will not be restricted to the State but extend to national politics, said BJP leader and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Her stunning victory was not predicted by any of the news channels / media in their poll survey. Now she has to bargain a lot from Congress which is ruling in the Center to develop the 'sick ridden' Tamil Nadu.

It is vibrant and determined. We see this in every Gujarati anywhere! The spirit is amazing."Congress too organised fasting in order to save 'Gujarat from modi'.
Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj slammed the Congress General Secretary for what she called his "lecture" to the Lok Sabha and even questioned the Speaker for relaxing convention for Rahul Gandhi, saying "Zero Hour is intended for debates, not for lectures to the nation."  To the Speaker, Ms Swaraj said, "You barely allow us three minutes. Rahul Gandhi spoke for 15 minutes. Was he making an address to the nation or an intervention in Zero Hour, I'd like to ask the Speaker."

 Tarun Kumar Gogoi retained as the Chief Minister of Assam in May 2011 Elections. In 2011, Tarun Gogoi led the Congress Party to victory in Assam for a third consecutive term, making the party win absolute majority after a hiatus of 20 years and totally decimating the AGP-BJP combine. Mr.Gogoi has brought about immense success in developmental politics, and succeeded in maintaining law and order in Assam with the number of terror strikes dwindling during his rule. He has also succeeded in fastening the peace process with the insurgent groups, especially ULFA which took place in 2011.It is the only happy news for Congress in this year, as it won by a slender margin in Kerala, and in Puducherry it loses. In Hisar LS by-election it lost it deposit. Rahul's magic totally failed in Bihar already and now in Tamil Nadu.. Will UP follow this is a big quest?

Rajya Sabha member M Kanimozhi was arrested and sent to the Tihar Jail, making hewr another VIP to be putbehind bars in the 2G spectrum case. The arrest of Kanimozhi, daughter of DMK Chief M Karunanidhi, has come as a double blow for the party's first family following the debacle in the TN Assembly elections.
